One was Barb of Virginia, who schedules sessions when she can get a babysitter for her young children. She worked from my passport picture, which I had e-mailed to her. She said having my picture on her screen while she talked with me on the phone helped her to connect with the appropriate energies. During the hour that we spoke, Barb said she was hearing from people called Rose, and David or Daniel, and Linda, and James or Jack, none of whom I recognized from among family members and friends who had died. But when she hit the mark, she did it impressively. She said my mother told her she had died with lung cancer, and repeated the word "hospice." My mother, who had died with lung cancer, had been a hospice volunteer and had hospice care when she was dying, and my father is now chairman of the board of the local hospice organization that helped her. She got my father's name, Thomas. Barb repeatedly told me she was getting a reference to someone who had lost a daughter. I told her that had nothing to do with me. Then she gave me a name, a highly unusual ethnic name, and I recognized it as the name of a friend I'd lost touch with who had lost her daughter. Barb told me the daughter was taking the opportunity to try to let her mother know she was fine, and to send her love. Barb told me my mother wanted to congratulate her grandson who was graduating, and to wish happy birthday to her child who had been born in early June; Barb suggested June 2. My son was a few weeks away from graduating from law school, and my brother's birthday is June 3. Barb said she was hearing from Mary, who was born in October. That was my father's mother. |
