Meditation for People Who Don't Have Time to Meditate

To meditate is to clear the mind of any conscious thought, find the silence and stillness within, and to receive the advice of the spiritual you. It is also the space in which you will receive guidance and messages from spirit guides and other Divine entities, as well as making a direct contact with the spiritual part of yourself. Meditation is all about the stillness and the quiet that you NEED, to allow yourself to hear that little, yet very big, INTUITIVE VOICE which lies within each one of us.

How Often Should We Really Meditate and For How Long?
Meditation should NOT be a burdensome thing. It’s just about getting to that quiet state within yourself for a small amount of time CONSISTENTLY. You don't have to meditate for an hour a day - it's not about time, it's more about consistency. Try to meditate for even 10-15 minutes a day or 15 minutes every other day to start. Maybe work up to 30 minutes if you feel you can. Mostly, try to be consistent in the time of day or day so your guides will expect you and you can start to build a relationship with them. This is so important. If you want to build a relationship with anyone, you simply cannot expect him or her to do all of the work. Why should a relationship with your guides be any different? You need to do your part to keep the relationship strong as well.

One of the easiest and best times to meditate is when you’re just waking up in the morning. This stage is called “hypnogogic” and it’s where we get many ideas and inspirational (in-spirit) messages . Hypnogogic is when you are ½ awake and ½ still in dreamland. This also happens before you go to sleep at night as well. If you have trouble falling asleep during meditation, you may want to meditate in the morning or afternoon.

The Basic Steps of Meditation
(you will want to tailor this to what works best for YOU) The BASIC steps of meditation can be:
1. release the stress and cleanse yourself first by taking cleansing breaths
2. get yourself to that quietness and stillness within you by acknowledging thoughts and allowing them lessen
3. connect with your Divine energy
4. imagine walking up a flight of steps or going up an elevator
5. walk into your sacred room
6. work with your guides and sense what they, as well as your Higher Self and Divine energy have to say
7. then, when you feel you’re done with your meditation, slowly walk back down your staircase and reconnect with your Divine energy
8. start to come back - move your toes, fingers, stretch, and move around a bit
9. take more cleansing breaths
10. GROUND, GROUND, GROUND
11. Record what you received

So, to sum up, it's basically breathing, relaxing, ACKNOWLEDGING your thoughts letting them lessen (do not ignore them, they'll come back!), connecting to your Divine energy always, going up and into your room to do your work, then coming back DOWN and reconnecting with your Divine energy, and then coming back to this plane slowly and by grounding. How you do this is up to you. You will have to experiment and see what works best. These are simply pointers and what I have learned and done. You will need to tailor these steps for YOU.

While in meditation you will want to create a sacred space/room in your mind during your first mediation. You can envision this room however you'd like. All white with a couch or with your favorite decorations around, anything you'd like. Just make sure you have only one door to enter and exit and no windows. This room is invitation only - that is, only those whom you invite are allowed to enter through your door. After some consistent meditation, you should then be able to go directly to this room in the future and work with your guides very quickly. The more you meditate (even for 10 minutes a day), the better the relationship with your guides will be. You should be able to quickly go into a meditative state, go into your room, sense or see your guides, and ask what you may need to be aware of for the day, or situation, etc. With consistent meditation, you will also start to be able to DIFFERENTIATE between what you think your mind or imagination is coming up with, and spirit guide messages. Differentiating comes with regular meditation. Do not give up! :)

What if I encounter negative energies during meditation?
No harm can come to you during meditation. Please know this. You are in an altered state while meditating, yet are fully conscious to what is happening around you. You should not see anything that frightens you, and if you by chance do not feel comfortable, re-surround yourself in the Divine’s white light energy, or simply open your eyes. Nothing can harm you, and there is no need to fear anything while meditating - you are always in control.

The main thing to remember is that meditation does not have to be a burdensome thing. If you can meditate for 15 minutes every other day to start, it should help immensely. Meditation is key to start to work with your guides and also help develop your own psychic abilities; however, you need to be CONSISTENT. Meditation has so many benefits! Relaxing benefits as well as even health benefits! You can help your psychic abilities grow and send healing to others. You can ask for guidance in meditation, or work with your guides. You can help improve your concentration and study habits. There is a huge list of benefits associated with meditation. Try it this week! Try for every other day for 15 minutes right when you are waking up in the morning. If you can handle that easily, try every day the next week. If it's too much cut back a bit - - just be CONSISTENT and work up to what is comfortable for YOU!
