Trust

This month, I'm going to talk about the word TRUST and what it means when we're learning to develop psychically. If we don't trust ourselves and what we receive, we will have a very difficult time developing. Even if you aren't looking to develop psychically, it's imperative to TRUST your inner voice, your intuition, your Higher Self, your Divine within. It's a little, YET VERY BIG voice, but if we learn to TRUST that voice, things tend to fall much more easily into place. When we fight it, we normally end up struggling. Does this sound familiar? "Oh, he will change someday, I'm sure. I can help him", or, "I have a feeling I shouldn't spend the money right now, but I can figure it out later", or, "I had the feeling I should have driven home the other way, but didn't, and got stuck in a massive traffic delay". Learn to TRUST your inner voice.

From the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary:
Trust
Function: verb
1 a: to place confidence: DEPEND b: to be confident: HOPE

Of course, and it makes perfect sense, look what's located in the same category as the word "Trust":
"self trust" or self-con-fi-dence
Function: noun: confidence in oneself and in one's abilities.

We ALL have the ability to receive the answers we need in our lives without consulting a psychic or intuitive. No, I'm not trying to drive away business (!), but I AM trying to help you understand that we ALL have God-given ABILITIES. I personally DO feel these abilities are "gifts," but gifts given to us by our Divine energy, and gifts that we all possess. Many people have asked me during classes I hold if they have psychic "powers." Well, yes and no. First, I don't personally like to use the word "powers", because, again, I feel these are VERY NORMAL abilities we all have; and second, I don't particularly like to use the word "psychic" because of the stereotype it carries with it. It's too bad, really, psychic is only the Greek word meaning "of the soul," but society, like with many other things, has put a bad spin on this word. So, I end up more times than not saying we all have intuitive abilities and senses beyond our regular seeing, feeling, tasting, smelling, and hearing. It's a perfectly fine word, don't get me wrong, and I'm going to use it in this article, but unfortunately, it has been given a bad rap in some cases.

Now that I've rambled and explained my opinion on that whole subject (!), these abilities lie dormant in most of us until we decide (if we decide) to develop them - and we CAN develop them. It does come easier to some of us than others, but it DOESN'T mean we had to have childhood experiences to have these abilities now. Sometimes we did, sometimes we didn't. EVERYONE IS UNIQUE and we each develop in their own way. It's when you have that PULL and desire to develop that's so important, in my opinion. It's not whether you had childhood experiences or not. To develop is simply a matter of working at it, and TRUSTING ourselves and what we receive. How? Work with your 5 intuitive senses to see which one calls to you or which you know you have. These are known as your "clairs" - which is only the French word meaning "clear". So, clairvoyant only means clear seeing. Clairaudient is simply clear hearing... see? The 5 clairs are: Clairvoyance (seeing), Clairaudience (hearing), Clairsentience (empathy or feeling), Clairgustance/Clairambience (tasting) and Clairalience (smelling). Now, here's a little clairvoyant exercise. Close your eyes (or leave them open and stare at a blank wall) and imagine a white table. On the table, see a red apple. Walk over and pick up the apple and look at it closely... see the shine? See the little dots? See the stem? See the red color? Look at it closely. Put down the apple now, and see an orange and do the same thing. This is a simple exercise, but one that will strengthen your "seeing" psychically. Now, take a second and imagine the outside of your home - can you see it? This is how most of us see clairvoyantly. It's very subtle and quick. The more you strengthen your psychic muscles, the stronger your abilities will be - just like if you wanted to work out your body. It won't just happen - you have to work those muscles! Also, once you start to open one of your "clairs" others normally start to follow. TRUST what you see, hear, feel, taste and smell.

Are we always accurate? No, we are not always going to get accurate information, and that's par for the course, but there are reasons for this. Sometimes our sabotaging brains get in the way, sometimes we misinterpret information (we're only human), and sometimes we just aren't meant to know the answers to everything. So we take the information we're given and do the best we can with it.

Here's a quick intuition tester. If you have a "this or that" situation or a "yes or no" decision to make, ask yourself the question and WITHOUT THINKING (even for a second), the FIRST feeling, or sense, or word, or symbol you get, is normally your answer. If you find yourself hesitating a bit, you're thinking too much... so start over. Here's an example: Is the job with the bank the right job for me RIGHT NOW (put specifics in your question... don't just say the "right job", that confuses things). So, ask the question, and the FIRST response you get is the answer. This answer will come in a very unemotional way, like a blah YES or a blah NO. Very calm and without emotion. If you're wondering whether you should buy that BMW and you get a YES!!!!!!!!!!! immediately, your answer probably isn't accurate. You've got the emotion of wanting and excitement attached. Try again. When it's a calm answer, you know that's probably it. NOW when you receive your answer, it doesn't mean you should act on it immediately, you need to investigate WHY you feel this way or why you got that answer, and... what can you do about it? What will help or will anything help? Can it be worked out, can you really afford it, etc. Sometimes we feel positive and negative feelings rather than seeing a symbol. Sometimes we "hear" yes or no... sometimes we just get a knowing of yes or no or this or that. Take the answer and see what you can do about it - or not do about it; but more times than not, when a client asks me a question and I ask it right back to them and tell them not to think but to answer right away... they always answer it.... and then always say, "You know, I KNEW that."

TRUST yourself - know that you know the answers you need to know, and learn to develop your psychic/intuitive senses. You'll see how much more easily things flow in your life
