How to Rid Your Home of Ghosts/Earthbounds

What exactly are ghosts? Well, truthfully, I don't believe in "demonic" energies (although there are negative spirit people out there who are just the same 'ol negative people they were on the earth plane), but I DO believe in ghosts. Ghosts are simply earthbound souls. They have decided, for whatever reason, to stay here on the earth plane rather than moving into the light and the astral level. Sometimes they don't quite get that they're dead, sometimes they're afraid to go to the otherside thinking that they'll be punished and go to hell for being not-so-good people here when they were alive. Sometimes they still enjoy the energy here and don't want to leave or stick close to people here still alive because of addictions, earthly pleasures, etc., and finally, sometimes, they just don't want to leave us or what they know as familiar. Some ghosts can be rather negative, some aren't and may only be hanging out.

If by chance you feel you have a negative energy in your home (something that SCARES you after you've asked them to stop - our spirit loved ones will NOT try to scare us especially after we ask them to stop), you need to remember a few things. First, remain unemotional and firm as if reprimanding a child, as they can and will feed off of your fear and make themselves stronger. Be very FIRM and tell them out loud to leave and that they are not welcome in your home. Do this firmly, yet with love. Tell the ghost to look for the light, and that its' physical body is dead and they are not welcome in your home. Tell them they will see their spirit people as well as guides there and will be treated with love no matter what they've done. Tell them that if they are worried about punishment, that they're not sent to "hell" but rather are shown their lives and are made to feel the things they've done to themselves and others, yet… always treated with love, and also met by guides who will help them through this. Be very firm in letting them know it's OK to go and that it's TIME to go. Keep telling them this until you FEEL they've gone to the light. If the activity does not stop, or stops for a while and then resumes, you may want to do a spiritual cleansing of your home. Crack a window in each room of your home and take a dried bundle of sage (available at most metaphysical stores) and "smudge" your home clearing out any negative or stagnant energies. Smudging is simply lighting the sage bundle, making sure you have a safe receptacle to catch the ashes in, and walking around your entire home allowing the smoke to circulate and cleanse the space. Again, be firm and unemotional, walk around each room, hallway, bathroom, closet, etc., of your home and say out loud and firmly something to the effect of, "this sacred sage is cleansing out any negative and stagnant energies... all negative and stagnant energies must leave NOW through the windows and NOT return." Do this until you FEEL the energy has gone and the room's energy lighten and then, say, "in the name of God (or whomever you believe in), this room is now cleansed". KNOW and feel this. Try to remember not to worry about how you look or sound or if you stumble on your words. The main thing here is your intent. Your intentions are to rid the home of negative and stagnant energies and they know this.

Be firm, unemotional and deal with these ghosts strongly yet with love. YOU are always in control! After you've completed this step, you may want to go back around all of the rooms with a pleasant incense such as lavender or Nag Champa and INVITE all loving and protecting "light" spirit energies into your home - especially your own spirit people! Some people end the ritual by lighting a white candle setting it on a table or steady place to "seal" the home. Be sure, as always, not to leave a candle unattended.
